Meaningless & Beautiful Things

friday night was a little crazy, crashed at gabbi’s house with a bitch of a headache and exhaustion only rivaled by this feeling of utter bumming, even though i had a fantastic night. we left the radio on 96.5 and fell asleep.

weirdest thing, i felt a tugging on my consciousness telling me i really should get up. before i opened my eyes, a feeling washed over me quite unlike anything i’ve ever felt before. as i woke up, landslide by fleetwood mac came on the radio, and birds were chirping. outside was a crisp, new morning, and i realized that the reason i’ve been feeling so shitty lately is because i’ve made myself feel that way.

so no more.

it’s funny how the little things make you realize, but from now on i’m not letting preconceived notions or silly fears get in the way of how i feel, because that’s the weakest thing i can do. i can only find my own happiness in the core of myself, and if i have to continue searching for it until the day i die, at least i’ll have something to do.

sure, she can’t decide which seat should take and should probably NEVER attend a sporting event, but the girl is young, and she’s singing about what she knows.

I mean, if I didn’t make up the shit in half of the songs I write, they’d all be about hating gym class or stepping on leaves while I walked home.

I mean, okay, the song was fucking stupid. But it’s not worth threatening someone’s life over.

Plus her momma gon kill you all :)
